Police were called at 4:16 p.m. on Monday, June 6 for a report of a missing swimmer.
A total of three swimmers were rescued in all from Harry Wright Lake with help from Good Samaritans and local firefighters from the Whiting Volunteer Fire Department and Manchester Career Fire Department, Manchester police said.
Two of the swimmers were taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River, police said.
It was determined that the three men had developed fatigue while attempting to swim from one side of the lake to the other, police said.
